"Having previously owned horses, but been out of riding for some time and loss of confidence, I decided to start having private lessons with Kirstie Harper at Bwlchgwyn last summer. I had also suffered a back injury at work some 12 months previously and was very rusty. My 1st lesson was great and I soon realised how much I had missed my riding. Kirstie was very patient with me but saw that I had a little more ability and on my 2nd lesson I had a change of horse. Although I was a little reluctant at first, Kirstie gave me the confidence to believe in myself and I was soon regaining my confidence. I was so impressed with Kirstie's teaching, that I persuaded a friend of mine who had suffered some serious injuries with her mare a few years earlier, to come with me for a lesson. We started to attend the coffee mornings, which became such an important part of our weekly activities that we were hooked. Kirstie taught us so much in the coffee mornings i.e. grooming, bandaging, poulticing, horse massage along with us learning to jump. I gained so much confidence that i took part in a small jumping competition shortly after, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Because of Kirsties patience and belief in me as a rider, and her excellent teaching, I have now gone on to buy my own horse again and am enjoying being back in the saddle. I have recommended Kirstie to many of my friends because she is such a kind and patient instructor and I will continue with my lessons because she makes it so enjoyable. I hope Kirstie continues with the excellent work she has done so far at Bwlchgwyn and that many more riders like myself can continue to benefit from her professionalism."
